Yes I do know that the picture doesn't show feathers! I haven't lost it completely you know. I was just trying another option, and I wasn't happy with that one either so that had to come out too. Any suggestions are welcome....Pp

That stitch ripper says it all.
Well.....its not going well! I have wasted an afternoon completely. I can do feathers, I can - really! But I have ripped out two lots this afternoon, and that's no easy thing. Maybe I am being too hard on my self, we never do that do we?? I think my problem is not that I can't do feathers, its more the restriction of the throat space. To complete the circle of feathers I have to move the quilt backwards and forwards and that is not conducive to maintaining a flow at all. May have to have rethink about the design. Back to the drawing board. Oh, the thread is great to sew with but not to unpick! Will talk more about it when I am not quite so fed up with my efforts.

Twisted four patch
Had a great workshop this week, it was on Monday and here is Sue with her quilt to just about finished apart from one or two border issues. It looks great, such pretty fabric.
Kids on half term this week so life a little calmer thank goodness. Managed to get the next quilt on the frame ready to go. I have been practising the feathers and there is a vast improvement. Now just have to work on feathers around a circle.

What's next?
So what's next onto the frame? Well, have been thinking of doing this one. Its been finished for a while bar the mitred corners and just done those now. Typically I want to use a red thread and I don't have one, which means a quick call to Martha. Also contemplating some feathers - now that's scarry!
I am itching to get out in the garden to clear up some of the dead leaves and prune back some bushes but all my gardening gurus at work are telling me to leave it a while yet. It is so cold today, that wind has a nasty bite.
Went to see Dgango at the cinema last night, not my choice I hasten to add. The film was quite good, but complete over use of the ketchup in my view and not really necessary. There were a couple of scenes that I looked away from and the noises were as bad as watching I am sure. Now Les Miserables the week before was as hard a watch but in a different way - I am sure I was outright sobbing at one point!
